VB 6, Visual Basic 6, .Net, GUI, MS Access 2000/3, and solid mathematical skills are required for this excellent opportunity within this leading Software Company to be involved in the conceptual design and implementation of the company's software product. You will initially be focused on an immediate project updating and processing the geographic databases which fundamentally underpin the product. This will involve using, improving and developing code, processing significant amounts of data, and careful testing at all stages of development. The project will culminate with the global deployment of the finished data sets. Future projects may include interfacing with other applications and databases, maintaining and enhancing existing functionality, or developing new modules and capabilities.
It is essential that you have a solid numerical mathematical background ideally with a mathematical degree or similar, in addition to over 3 years commercial background in MS Visual Basic 6/.Net with good knowledge of GUI, MS Access 2000/03, SQL Server, ODBC, DAO and ADO. Previous commercial use of third party components (e.g. TrueDB Grids, MapObjects, DynaZip) is highly desirable. An awareness of lower level (e.g. C++/C/assembler) languages are also required.
